and I am absolutely exhausted. Let me tell you why…
My husband got me up at 5 AM, as I requested. I stayed in bed, because I just couldn’t move yet. However, I couldn’t go back to sleep, so wound up getting up by 6 AM anyway.
Worked on an article…which I posted here. Before it was done, my oldest two girls were up.
Got them drinks, sat back down to work a bit again before anyone else got up. Only got about a paragraph done before my youngest daughter and my son woke up.
Took them out of their bedroom, changed their diapers, got them a drink and a bottle.
Sat back down to work again while they watched Looney Toons and Tom & Jerry. (Yes, you read that right! They love these cartoons from so long ago! They like Jonny Quest, too!
)
My middle girl said she wanted to go outside on our playground.
Got them all dressed and shoed. Took them outside for at least a half hour. I got three plants replanted in a planter the girls and I painted over a week ago, while my son sat in his stroller and the girls played on the swingset.
When it started getting hot (yep, this early it gets hot down here…no not there, but close) and the mosquitoes were biting, we headed inside.
Once inside, we put all their shoes in the washing machine, as they were covered with mud. Got the washing machine started and I went to the kitchen to make breakfast (eggs and bacon).
The oldest two girls helped stir up the cracked eggs…see, cooking…and I got them cooking on the stove. Then I got the bacon in the microwave.
Put the plates on the table and we were just getting ready to sit down when we heard a knock on the door. It was the developmental specialist that comes to see my one daughter each week, in hopes we can get her to talk soon. (I thought she was coming around noon…guess I was wrong.)
We sat at the table, ate, while the lady was working with my daughter. Then, she took her out onto the porch for some one on one time, her assistant sat in the living room and watched a movie with my older two, and I sat and fed my son.
The worker came back inside and worked with my daughter a while longer. Then the doorbell rang. Jehovah’s Witnesses came to give me literature. (I really wish they would stop…I’ve asked, but they don’t listen.)
After the specialists left, I got out the colorforms and paint as a treat for my older daughters, who behaved like angels! My youngest daughter just spread water on her paper.
That brings us to now. I finally put my son down for his morning nap and the girls are all laying on my bed watching Alladin! I got a cup of coffee, finally…too bad it is decaf.
Everything still needs cleaned up, but the blissful silence was too good to pass up.
And that was my morning! How was yours?
