Through all the code, the rewrites, the requests sent to friends online to assist in squashing small bugs here and there, I need to remind myself the beauty of this digital journey. Arscompendium is, in all of its glory and innocence, a combination blog and historical compendium of facts and knowlege found, and NOT found elsewhere. All of the writers and editors found on this site understand that the craft they employ should be meaningful, not just for the reader who visits here on a whim or a search engine request, but it should also be meaningful to the writer themselves.
That being said, the writers here are being compensated by having their own adsense ads shown on their articles. Arscompendium is an adsense revenue sharing website. What does this mean to the reader?
All of the content you see on this site is copyrighted, not to be used elsewhere (except in rss feeds). We are NOT a free article site, nor are we a bunch of stuff lecturers decrying the atrocities happening overseas. Instead, we’re a dedicated group of writers and digital blog enthusiasts who LOVE the idea of contributing to a greater work and being compensated for it in some small, and/or large way…whether it is in currency or self satisfaction.
Stay tuned to this site as you get to see the evolution of one of the most intriguing, interesting and informative collections of writings on the world wide web. I’ll have fun developing the code end of things, and I’m sure the writers will have a blast writing away.
Stay tuned!

Hey Administrator. We know what ArsCompendium means…what is the Isle of Riva? I’m sure it has some significance.
Well, literally it’s a place where the Rivan King held residence in the series created by fantasy author David Eddings. I grew up on all of David Edding’s works, and even took the handle of The Rivan King on several bulletin boards when I was growing up.
Riva was the kingdom, and the Isle..well, was where the Kingdom was ruled from. Having your center of power held central on an Island was a blessing and a curse..enemies couldn’t reach you as easily, and friends couldn’t visit as often.
Either way, I liked the idea of a castle on a Island lol.
