About This Editor: I am a writer. Have been writing for other sites, but expect to do most of my future work HERE! My expertise extends from the esoteric such as burning hydrogen to the unpredictability of the stock market and my writing makes me a jack of all trades and exasperated master of none. I have had some influence over national wildfire and water policy and there are hints of a change in energy policy, BUT as Samuel Goldwyn once said, "A verbal promise is not worth the paper it is written on."

“The Wall Street Journal” the weekend of July 29-30, in a refreshing article written by John Jurgensen, had an interesting take on the coming of new media, referring to podcasts and web sites with animation and the like.

It was a long and favorable story and I decided to check things out.

The first address mentioned that I visited, itsjerrytime.com, created by brothers Orrin and Jerry Zucker, had short thirty second or a minute or two minute animations with a blog, photos, dvds, posters, t-shirts and the like for sale. The site is well put together and a refreshing commentary on real world problems and coping.

The second site, keitherandthegirl.com, is mostly all talk, emphasizing scatological language in its supposed live on line chat room. They also sell cds, dvds t-shirts and so on and have a few photos that presumably tell you where Keith is at and is coming from. Bare bones if you ask me.

Next is tikibartv.com, an obvious homage to booze. But all they sell is, gasp, t-shirts and mugs along with some free cocktail recipes. Ironically, the claim is that they do not have a signed deal yet, but I am not sure this is my drink.

Then there is Amadaunboomed.blogspot.com. I am not sure what to make of this site since not only did I have problems, but Amanda reported some sort of problem. She does have links to a lot of other sites including “its jerry time” (already listed above), one for German Chancellor Merkel, which did not work, one for Senator Edwards, for which on two tries I got that message saying “Page cannot be found,” and one for “the show,” which did not impress me.

Since I am interested in new media, I think it is worthwhile to check some of the other sites mentioned and links offered out in order to keep posted on what is going on.
