Going to Las Vegas is often thought of as an adults only excursion. Many people have the impression that if you take your children to Vegas, there will be nothing for the children to do and will thus be a boring trip for everyone. This is not the case. There are plenty of things for families with children to do while visiting Las Vegas.
The Circus-Circus Hotel is a great place to either stay with the kids or at least to visit while there. This hotel features a midway type arcade for the enjoyment of all. The arcade surrounds the circus stage and offers a great view from all angles. There is also a wide variety of arcade games to play from the old fashioned Atari favorites all the way up to the latest in gaming. Every game that you play gives you the chance to win prizes. There are nearly 200 games to choose from so chances are there is something that everyone will enjoy.
The S.W.A.T. House is another interesting option for family activities. This indoor virtual training facility is the only one of its kind in the Las Vegas area and covers more than 7000 square feet. Players can choose from a wide variety of training missions and different Airsoft weapons to choose from as well. Reservations are greatly encouraged but not required.
For those who enjoy watching an ice show, Casears Palace is the place for you. The show is called “The Stars are Out Tonight” and features world class and Olympic class figure skaters. There are also public skating lessons taught by the United States’ Figuring Skating certified instructors. Skating shows are only available from November 27 until January 15 each year.
Families that wish to view sea life will enjoy the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. This aquarium is located a short walk from the casino and allows visitors to see many different types of sharks. There is a shark tunnel where you can witness sharks swimming all around you. The Shark Reef also has other types of sea life like any aquarium would. There is a touch tank for the youngsters to be able to touch some of the different types of sea life as well. The aquarium has about 100 species of sharks and a total of 2500 species of different sea life.
Those who are a bit more adventurous may wish to leave Las Vegas via helicopter to view the Grand Canyon from a new viewpoint. Helicopters rides have the capacity for up to 5 people depending on the weights of those involved. A helicopter is a touchy flying mechanism and weight must be properly distributed within in order for it to fly properly. The tour begins with a trip down the Las Vegas strip and then proceeds south to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. This tour will then take you within the walls of the canyon and land you next to the Colorado River. Lunch is then served prior to returning to Las Vegas.
In the hot summer months, sometimes a nice day of cooling off is in order. Las Vegas has its very own water park called Wet n’ Wild. This park is located on the Vegas strip next door to the Sahara Hotel. It features more than a dozen different rides appropriate for all ages. These range from thrilling water slides to more relaxing river rides.
These are only a few of the things to do while traveling to Las Vegas with children. There are many other things to do that will peak different interests. Animal shows, games, and rides can be found in multiple locations both on the strip and off. You are guaranteed to find something that will please everyone no matter where your interests lie.
