About This Editor: I am a writer. Have been writing for other sites, but expect to do most of my future work HERE! My expertise extends from the esoteric such as burning hydrogen to the unpredictability of the stock market and my writing makes me a jack of all trades and exasperated master of none. I have had some influence over national wildfire and water policy and there are hints of a change in energy policy, BUT as Samuel Goldwyn once said, "A verbal promise is not worth the paper it is written on."

After checking this site’s statistics on visits, it is easy to say that traffic here is building. That is good for both the contributors and the visitors as web usage tends to be looked on as prestigious.

All the big companies are interested in traffic since that is where the money is. It also spawns a cottage industry of web sites that track business. Google has some google specific areas where a visitor can either check up on business or learn a lot about web commerce.

There are also independent sites specializing in web traffic information. One such site is www.ranking.com, where a visitor can readily learn how popular the sites that interest him currently are. Of course, this is especially useful for advertisers who want to assess where the eyeballs are. Sites with more traffic make more money, rising to the hundreds of millions of dollars Google paid to advertise on myspace. New media is becoming very impressive, indeed.

Another site very interesting to people interested in web business is whois run by NetworkSolutions. Either the actual owner or a very useful contact for many, many web sites can be found by typing in the domain name that interests you. Urls that are not currently owned can be purchased at a reasonable price.

The point being that for those who are willing to spend the time and effort useful tools are available for those who want to grow with the internet just as there are many useful tools around for those looking to invest in the stock market where this writer expects an immediate dip after the election because there are too many politicians around looking to control medical costs rather than allowing businesses to run on free market principles.
