Well, kind readers, I guess it’s time for the updates I have promised regarding a few of my articles here at the Compendium. I hope that they bring a few smiles your way.
Referring back to Spooky Sounds parts one and two, in terms of the odd noises and strange occurrences in my home, all has been relatively quiet for the last 6 weeks or so. However, orbs occasionally continue to show up on digital photographs. Over the weekend, my daughter’s friend took one of her, and there was one over each of her shoulders. That sent chills up my spine, but she matter-of-factly said that one was her spirit guide and the other a guardian angel. Uh….ok……
Remember Young Love? Well, apparently time and distance haven’t affected this budding romance. Romeo and Juliet still search for each other at every opportunity. On Friday, after our Thanksgiving celebration, they were still together, and the boy even approached the girl’s mother to talk. (I guess it’s never too early to impress the future in-laws.) As of this time, there’s been no play date set, or any other kind of date….
This Baby Boomer’s Wrinkle Battle is still being fought, and I still chuckle every day as I think about the advertising that I told you about. The Search for Pearly Whites has now come to an end, and although pearlier and whiter, my teeth are not exactly blinding. But, for products purchased in a retail establishment, I’m satisfied.
Regarding Questioning Coincidence, there hasn’t been any large event that I can point to and say “Aha-that’s why things didn’t work the way I’d expected!” However, looking back over this tumultuous school year, I realize that I needed a little downtime after each class to confer with other teachers about the curriculum, which ended up being revised almost daily. I couldn’t have done so had I been rushing out to take a class. So, in retrospect, it worked out well enough, even though my check never showed up-cashed or otherwise. So I was right-it was more than just coincidence.
Last, the Crazy Hat Lady was deeply touched by the article in her honor, and that over 50 of you have already read it. When she saw me shopping in her store following the publication, she left her position to give me a big hug, and thanked me for taking the time to write about her. I didn’t attempt to explain that it is truly a joy to do so.
One of my first articles here was about why Writers Have to Write, and her reaction validates the essence of those thoughts. It is a privilege, and I appreciate the positive feedback that I’ve received.
If there are any more updates on these topics in the future, you all will be the first to know!
