Don’t you hate computer crashes? Mine had to be reformatted, and then our Internet service became whacked. Anyway, I’m still on vacation. I’m glad, but I go back three days after my birthday, which is in less than two weeks. I’m graduating this coming semester. I have a montage of feelings. First, I was gripped by fear because I wasn’t sure how I would fare out there in the real world. Then I decided to stop thinking about the future and my stress level went down, which made me happy. Then doubt seeped in. Okay, it didn’t. It poured in, with worries. It seems to me that graduating from high school was a much happier time. I guess if you have a major that doesn’t have a lot of job opportunities, you’ll be in the same boat as me. I’ve been fine with not thinking about the future until the absolute last moment, but then my mom spoke up and brought up the subject of jobs. One thing for sure though, I’m not the type of person who can live with the 9-6 grind (or 8-5). That whole office hours thing, and the whole office scenario, and doing the same task all day everyday five days a week…it’s just not for me. And trust me, I know. Most of my jobs have been office jobs. It kills me…it kills my being, my energy, my…my chi or life force…that thing that is me.
