Dear readers, just for the fun of it, I decided to write a sample astrology article for my sign, Leo. It made me realize that all of those “horoscopes” are merely the works of very creative writers, and that it’s easy to be pretty generic. After reading my first draft, take a stab at writing one yourself; you’ll see that it’s not difficult at all!

“Lions, your personal year is half over, and your astrological year is well established. Fortunately, or unfortunately, the path you find yourself on right now is probably where you will continue for the next few months, unless a significant change is made in its route.

With the days getting longer, your energy level is lasting longer and with your sun sign-old Sol himself-rising higher in the sky, your spirits are also higher. It’s time to shake those winter doldrums and start planning ahead for summer, your time of year. Just thinking about how you will be able to bask in the sunlight once again will do wonders for your outlook!

If you’re considering additions for your spring wardrobe, don’t forget that Leos, like the sun himself, are at personal best with variations of yellow and gold. Whether the new trends call for lemon, mustard or butter shades, adapt the hue for your complexion. If your skin or hair already has too much from this color family, try mixing it with cooler colors, or wearing a few silver pieces of jewelry with gold-toned ones. The brassiness will connect you with your sun sign, but the visual affect will be counteracted by the opposite shades. You should feel luckier, since you’re representing your primary astrological sign, the governing body of almost every action and attitude.

Right about now you may be tempted to overindulge in all manner of food and drink, but look ahead to the summer. All Leos wish to have the spotlight, and summer offers the best opportunity for it. With longer days, fewer cover-ups, more social events and vacations, Leos have the chance for the most fun, not to mention the most attention. It’s hard to enjoy it if Leo is worried about how she looks. Start now on a sensible eating plan, and imagine yourself wearing that outfit that you were envying last year!

Use what’s available in the upcoming season to feel good about yourself: donate to religious organizations; help with spring fundraisers of community or educational facilities; get outside and start planting a garden, or stay inside and do a super-spring cleaning. Leos need to feel needed, and the next couple of months will offer many choices to do so.

It’s a good time of year to catch up on medical and dental appointments as well. If any treatments are needed, winter is a good time to do so. That way, the Leo can enjoy summer’s sun and heat to their heart’s content, and others can enjoy Leo’s generous, social nature.

Leos shouldn’t be disappointed if they’re feeling a little down at this time of year. Winter is rarely as fulfilling for them as when the sun reaches its place in the sky as it was at their birth. But by showing their vast amount of love, and realizing that they are also loved by others, Leos will find this a pleasant time of year after all!”
