About This Editor: I am a writer. Have been writing for other sites, but expect to do most of my future work HERE! My expertise extends from the esoteric such as burning hydrogen to the unpredictability of the stock market and my writing makes me a jack of all trades and exasperated master of none. I have had some influence over national wildfire and water policy and there are hints of a change in energy policy, BUT as Samuel Goldwyn once said, "A verbal promise is not worth the paper it is written on."

The results for Super Tuesday finally have been counted.  There may be leaders in the race for the White House, but quite possibly there may be no leaders, only candidates, the race being so close and the issues so cloudy that it is hard to tell exactly who did what and when or if they did do what did they do?

For the Republicans, John McCain won several states and a lot of delegates, but Mike Huckabee also won.  Even Mitt Romney, the presumed leader won.  But Senator McCain appears to have won a little bit more.  So with the race almost halfway over everybody is winning.  Of course, winning isn’t everything.  Yet it could quite possibly be the only thing.  Senator McCain seems to have a lot of delegates but former Governors Huckabee and Romney also captured delegates.  Just not enough to be considered the leaders.

Candidates who withdrew from the race such as Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson also got votes.  Yet not enough to really matter.  Former Senator Thompson’s problem was that he failed to create any excitement in Hollywood and former Mayor Giuliani got caught marrying his mistress much to the chagrin of his former wife, broadcaster Donna Hanover, although his match making seems to be supportive of the 60-40 compromise on pornographic content he ended up enforcing.

Senator McCain has been praised for seeking compromise with the fearless Democratic opposition and his energy policies such as opposing alcohol subsidies while later on visiting a solar energy plant seems to support his delicate diplomatic balancing act.

As for the Democrats, Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton appear doomed to continue debating right up to the Convention since former Senator John Edwards and a few other political heavyweight opponents grew so disgusted with the inevitable outcome that they withdrew from the race, choosing to sit on the sideline and watch Barack and Hillary argue to the bitter end.  For example, Senator Obama came out for energy independence, then became quiet on the topic.  Senator Clinton sensing an opportunity to make her case said nice things about the subject or did she?  Sometimes it’s hard to tell precisely what she is talking about.  Not that it matters since this is still a horse race with Senator Obama attracting minorities and young people as Senator Clinton shows her appeal to hispanics and women.

The race is likely to continue on to Louisiana where relief from Hurricane Katrina is likely to come up and no criticism of the Army Corps of Engineers will be permitted for both parties and Nebraska for the Democrats and Kansas (where is Dorothy when you need her?) for the Republicans.  After that, it could be remember the Maine.
