Japan and the over seas market have been enjoying Nintendos newest game creation: the wii fit. The wii fit has been designed with the staying in shape theme by having its players utilize the wii balance board to do mini games on the wii system. This new game, in my estimation, will revolutionize the way parents, kids and other people look at video games as a whole. Not only do people have fun in actively playing the wii fit game, but their bodies are also doing something.
Now, i’m a child of the 80’s who grew up on the original Nintendo and Atari systems. I’ve spent my fair share of time in the arcade and on my couch playing video games. Back then, not everyone could afford game systems so you saw more kids outside playing ball or on their bikes than you do today. The point is this: gamers today are more inactive than they were years ago. Why? There are more of us than ever before. Between school, work and family- who has time to go out and play? The wii fit game system, with the active balance board, affords people the ability to have fun while actively engaging their bodies.
The wii fit system comes with several mini games that test your abilities to move, shape and apply different body mechanics. Other games are slated to be introduced as well to take advantage of the new wii balance board. One game already out, Wii Ski, enables friends and family to virtually ski down a mountain racing each while standing on the balance board.
How cool is that?
