This recession has surprised me. It has been longer, deeper and more worrisome than previous economic dips and even worse than I had expected. It is still not clear that it is over, yet the Administration and the Congress are moving on to free medicine to make sure everyone has health care and, of course, spread the happiness since free treatment is supposed to be more economically friendly than expensive medicine.
I suppose they will eventually enact something. I hope it will improve the national health and well being. You never know, however, since there is so much political jargon and not enough cold, medical reality coming out of Washington these days. What the final bill will be right now is still unclear since I am not particularly sure where this country is going either short term or long term. Besides health care, there is the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor. While she seems to be honest, safe, secure and even reassuring and was even nominated by the now minority Republicans in the past, it is possible controversy about a decision or some other sensational item will surface so not everybody will be happy no matter what. The good judge does not appear to be a soft, feminine type. Rather she seems hard driving and demanding. This might be good for a ground breaking female judge, but I am not sure it is going to make secure justice. I offer the case of King Solomon, please. He tried to divide a child in two in a custody dispute. That was that a good one. It satisfied no one until the perpetrating transgressor confessed her sins just like they did in those proverbial Perry Mason melodramas Judge Sotomayor happens to be so fond of.
Nonetheless there are always problems in America. So Judge Sotomayor may appeal to minorities, so we get some social justice going forward less grousing based on the premise if the justice was really wanted by the offending party there would not be a need for a court case. Reverse thought, some people deserve what they sow and there is always room for more lawyers and good judges. On the other hand, how is Barry Barack Hussein Obama going to promulgate the future prosperity and well being of this great country. To tell the truth, I feel down trodden and abused and do not feel Barry Barack Hussein Obama is helping much. Look at his recent beer summit. Police get called to investigate. The subject claims it is his home and gives the cops lip or yo ma lip or has an attitude. Hey, isn’t that what I am doing? Perhaps I can get a free invite to the White House. Perhaps all I have to do is keep giving Barry Barack Hussein Obama some more political lip. Sounds simple enough. Hey, my next request is a lawyer. Seriously.
What is the problem? His political jive is too far hard left for me. It is not in my comfort zone. What I want to know is where are the jobs? What is going to appreciate in capital terms? Where is this going? Is this country going to prosper or not? How does hard left rhetoric grow the economy and create economic opportunity including personal work situations? There is something very short sighted going on let me tell you.
And when it comes to patronage as opposed to a tax they can levy and therefore would be entitled to there is a big, big difference. The response to substantial and meaningful issues I have raised has not been good, the treatment poor and high handed, nor has what has been done above board and transparent.
Where is the responsiveness? Where is the honesty?
One thing this gives me is insight into the resentment foreign despots feel for American policy as it tends towards emasculation and insensitivity although this may be proper treatment for dictators who have no respect for modern civilized values, it is not good treatment for me, subject as I am to American law, even though politicians have no respect when it comes to something for nothing. There just isn’t much respect for settled law. It seems to interfere with those all encompassing, all happiness sharing schemes. I know. Been there. Argued that. Callous and aloof does not do this justice.
Since this recession may never have been necessary, it just shows how determined Washington politicians are to get their hands on private money and move in and meddle. Look at what has transpired. Hey, I, too, want to live free. When is that going to happen? How do we establish the equality in that? Where is the compassion and understanding?
You want cynicism? You want serious doubts and on the ball second guesses. Well you have them here. Big time.
